Enrollment for Academic Year 2024-2025

THREE steps to complete the overall enrollment procedure:

(Step 1) Complete the online enrollment forms in the “New Student Enrollment” System and upload all the required supporting documents.

(Step 2) Take a physical check-up (Get ready with you the vaccination statement, ID document(s), and admission letter for taking a physical check-up in assigned medical center, for details please read the enrollment handbook).

(Step 3) Confirm the personal information and fill in the “Overnight Contact Information” in the “Student Status Information” column of Tronclass.

(1) Mainland China student should upload the notice paper of “Special Authorization to Stay (Student)”

(2) For those students who completed (Step 1) with approval, the student no. and CityU email account (xxxxx@cityu.edu.mo) will be notified by Faulty via the email of class notice

It is not suggested that mainland China students to come to Macau SAR earlier than mid-August with “Student Status”, otherwise they may have problem of expiration of “Temporary Visa” before completed enrollment, as result in failing to apply for the “Special Authorization to Stay (Student)”.

It is a must to include basic personal information such as full name, student no., ID no., and title of programme, etc. in the content of email. And please summarize your questions and write them down in the email in a organized manner for efficient follow up.

As one of the enrollment requirements, all new students must go to assigned medical center to conducted required physical check-up items at their own costs. For those who fail to conduct required physical check-up or with negative physical check-up result, the University will not enroll them, please find the enrollment handbook for details.

3.1 How to access online enrollment system ?

Answer: Access (www.cityu.edu.mo) “CityU Student” “Online Registration”.

3.2 How to confirm the submission of all required supporting documents for online enrollment ?

Answer: After confirmed that all submitted information is accurate, please click “I have confirmed all information is accurate”, and then click “Information is submitted for Registry to review”. When there is notice of “Information review is completed by Registry” displayed on the online enrollment system, the first step of overall enrollment procedure is done. Once the information is reviewed and approved by Registry, it is not allowed for student to modify the information.

3.3 What should I do if the information is found inaccurate after the submission on the online enrollment system ?

Answer: After student clicked “Information is submitted for Registry to review”, Registry will review all the enrollment information, if there is any missing or inaccurate information, there would be notice shown on the online enrollment system and reminder would be sent to student by email. The online enrollment system will then be unlocked again and student must make modification(s) as required as soon as possible.

3.4 Could I conduct online enrollment as new student if my Special Authorization to Stay (Student) (i.e. Student visa) has not yet been processed for my “P.R.C. Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao” ?

Answer: “P.R.C. Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao” holder could conduct online enrollment and upload the permit onto the system before “Special Authorization to Stay (Student)” is ready.

3.5 Issue about filling in the information in the column of “P.R.C. Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao” number ?

Answer: It is required for students to fill in their own “P.R.C. Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao” number instead of their parents’ ones.

3.6 It is unable for me to proceed to the next step for online enrollment ?

Answer: New students must complete the online enrollment steps in order and all the steps are indispensable. After completed each step, students must click “Save data” to continue to the next step.

3.7 It is unable for me to upload the photo onto the online enrollment system ?

Answer: Photo(s) must be uploaded in accordance with the requirements and format, and the file name of the photo(s) must be in English.

3.8 What should I do if it fails to upload the supporting documents ?

Answer: Please check again if the documents are in accordance with the requirements and format, and the file name of the documents must be in English.

3.9 What should I do if I fail to provide prerequisite academic record of transcripts for online enrollment ?

Answer: Please upload a letter of explanation clearly stating the reasons onto the “Transcript” column of online enrollment system.

3.10 What should I do if I fail to provide “special stamp page” for provincial household registration because my household registration is a collective one ?

Answer: Please upload a letter of explanation clearly stating the reasons onto the “Household Registration Booklet” column of online enrollment system, and upload the personal household registration page.

3.11 What is the deadline for completing the first step of overall enrollment procedure ?

Answer: Students should usually complete the first step of overall enrollment procedure before August.

3.12 How could I obtain my student number and CityU configuration email ?

Answer: For students who have been approved for the first step of overall enrollment procedure, the student number and CityU configuration email information (xxxxx@cityu.edu.mo) will be sent by Faculties on a class-by-class basis.

3.13 How to access the CityU configuration email account ?

Category 1: Fail to complete online enrollment due to missing prerequisite academic qualifications record

  • Submit the “Application for New Student Late Registration” form with payment receipt for application fee, graduation certifications (if any), and a letter of explanation, please note that application without completed information will not be accepted for proceeding.
  • Late enrollment period could only be last for one semester or one academic year.

Category 2: Fail to complete online enrollment due to missing Confirmation of Acceptance for Study to apply for “P.R.C. Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao”

  • Late enrollment usually should not be later than two weeks after programme commencement, otherwise it will not be approved. If there are special circumstances, additional information should be provided for verification. Students are solely responsible for the consequences of insufficient attendance rate due to late enrollment.

Category 3: Fail to complete online enrollment due to personal health conditions

  • Submit the “Application for New Student Late Registration” form with payment receipt for application fee and medical certificate, please note that application without completed information will not be accepted for proceeding.
  • Late enrollment period could only be last for one semester or one academic year.

Students should be solely responsible for the consequences of their change of study plan and additional charges due to late enrollment. If students need to apply for late enrollment, please contact the Faculties to fill in the application form and submit all required documents. The result will be subject to the final approval of the University.

Remarks:

  1. All students who apply for late enrollment must also complete the first step of overall enrollment procedure: type in “0” for those columns which data is temporarily unavailable. For the upload section, students could upload a letter of explanation when necessary. 
  2. Students must complete all the overall enrollment procedures immediately after on board.
  3. For those who fail to complete all the overall enrollment procedures, regardless of whether they have attendance records or not, admission qualifications will be cancelled in accordance with regulations.
  4. The University generally does not accept applications for late enrollment for the reasons other than the three mentioned ones.

5.1 Admission Letter/Confirmation of Acceptance for Study has not been received yet ?

5.2 About tuition and accommodation fee ?

Answer: Please contact the Finance Division for inquiries via email: fidrec@cityu.edu.mo.

5.3 About dormitory ?

Answer: Please contact the Student Affairs Office for inquiries via email: saoinfo@cityu.edu.mo.

5.4 If I have not completed online enrollment for new student, can I proceed with the dormitory lottery ?

Answer: Yes

5.5 What should I do if I cannot settle the accommodation fee due to incomplete online enrollment ?

Answer: Please contact the Admissions Office for inquiries via email: ado@cityu.edu.mo.

5.6 How to get my student ID card ?

Answer: It will be distributed uniformly by each Faculties after enrollment. Please pay attention to the Faculties notice.

5.7 Main contact information with the University ?

Answer: It is most preferable to take email (xxxxx@cityu.edu.mo) as the main contact method for University, Faculties, and departments. After enrollment, students will have CityU email account assigned by the University. Regarding the email content for inquiry, it is suggested to include students’ full name, enrolled programme title, ID card number, and clearly list your the questions for inquiry for effective follow up.
