Dear students,
In view of the global situation of the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic is still serious and complex, and meanwhile some areas in the Mainland China turned to be classified as medium or high risk areas recently, the local government may adopt citywide lockdown in response to the need for prevention of the pandemic. With the upcoming holiday, the movement and gathering of people will further increase the risk of the spread of the pandemic. Therefore, the country is calling on provinces and cities to reduce the movement of people during the holidays to reduce the risk of a rebound, while the Macao SAR government has issued an appall to the public to stay in Macao during the Chinese New Year.
The University hereby urges all students to cooperate with the pandemic prevention policies of the Macao SAR Government, to carefully assess the need for cross-border travel, and try the best to avoid unnecessary trips and any cross-border movements. Do not go to the areas classified as medium or high risk, and please pay close attention to the pandemic prevention measures announced by the Macao SAR Government.
According to the recommendations of the Macao Higher Education Bureau on the implementation of preventive measures in university, CityU would like to advice all students:
- Stay in Macao as much as possible during the holidays, and avoid unnecessary trips to reduce the risk caused by the pandemic, and put your health and studies first. If you have to leave Macao, please make sure you follow the Macao SAR Government’s pandemic prevention policies and inform your class and college of your holiday destination, and keep in close contact with them.
- Please take care of your personal health, wear masks, wash hands regularly and keep social distance in your daily life. Try our best to persist and cherish the achievements made by all parties in the fight against the COVID-19.
- Before returning to the university, please pay special attention to the “Macao Health Code” and the “Special Webpage Against Epidemics” of the Macao Health Bureau.

If any student meets the aforementioned conditions, and the color of the Macao Health Code is changed from green to other colors, please report to your faculties, which will affect your return to school and the class arrangements.
